SUMMARY:Edge of Field Conservation Practices and Cover Crop Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join the ISU Northern Research Farm and the Boone River Wate
 rshed WMA along partners for this edge of field conservation practices a
 nd cover crop tour. Everyone has a responsibility to protect water quali
 ty and this tour will allow landowners\, tenants\, farmers\, conservatio
 nists and others to see conservation practices that offer ways to reduce
  nitrates from reaching water sources and provide additional conservatio
 n benefits. This event will start at the ISU Northern Research Farm with
  registration at 8:30\, followed by a brief introductions at 9:00 a.m. &
 nbsp\;We will then divide up and drive to 4 local sites (within 10 miles
  of the research farm) to look at edge of field practices and cover crop
 s\, all while hearing from landowners about reasons for using these prac
 tices and learning about cost-share dollars available for installation o
 f practices.&nbsp\;\n\n\n\nCome prepared to drive\, walk (minimal walkin
 g)\, talk\, share and learn about these practices and how you can protec
 t Iowa's water quality. Over lunch we will learn about Iowa's water qual
 ity from Dr. Matt Helmers. &nbsp\;\n\n\n\nA complete agenda will be post
 ed on this web event listing by October 1. This event is free and open t
 o all\, but we do ask that you register so we can prepare for food and l
