Iowa Envirothon History
Iowa hosted its first Envirothon competition in the 1995-1996 school year and, for the last 31 years, has continued to challenge students statewide to hone critical-thinking skills and develop inventive solutions to the complex local natural resource issues facing Iowans today.
Since 2014, the Iowa Envirothon has reached over 3,400 students and 93 schools across Iowa:
